Crafts for children are a great idea to keep them occupied with educational and interesting things to do that don't cost you a fortune. Too many parents rely on the TV, video game or the Internet to entertain and educate our kids. Our busy and stressful lives make it difficult to occupy your kids with a creative and interesting activities. Crafts for children can be a great alternative that don't have to cost a fortune and can be fun for the whole family. Crafts for children provide important and useful skills that will improve their motor functions, mental development and a relief from boredom of mindless TV and computer games

Coloring books and crayons are usually the first crafts for children where they can explore their creative abilities. Crayons and books are plentiful and cheap. Even seemingly random scrawling can occupy a restless child. If the child shows promise at coloring then drawing and painting are the next crafts for children that present a fun challenge for a budding artist.

The list of artistic crafts for children can be long. Aside from painting and drawing, there are many other areas such as jewelry making, leather-work, scrapbooking, scale modeling, masks, paper mache, Popsicle sticks, foam shapes, cookie & candy making; the list goes on and on.
